Amman Lecture: The Rough Cut

Today I was blessed to give my lecture, which seemed to be very well received. It is a daunting task to try to introduce such an extensive model to a group as varied as this one — many different languages, cultures, religions, educational levels, etc.

I wanted to share this with all of you who have been following along on these posts from Amman. This is the talk, as I gave it – but without a means for me to audio-record it here, I asked Mike Morrell to read it and upload it onto a slide-sharing website. Mike likes to make self-deprecating remarks like “I have a face made for radio” and “There’s a reason that Tim’s a public speaker and I’m not,” but for something recorded on the fly, I think Mike does a nice job. :)

Thanks for walking with me this week and I hope all of you have a great weekend! I’ll post some concluding thoughts after I return home. Blessings!

  1. Tim,

Great lecture – didn’t realize you were so into Spiral Integral (just never heard you speak on it before). You should speak with my friend Elza Maalouf, who is implementing SDi in the Middle East – specifically in Palestine – in order to enact change and transformation of society there. Her website is http://www.humanemergencemiddleeast.org/, and you can read her wiki bio at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elza_Maalouf.

This was an excellent lecture with a lot of food for thought and incite. It saddens me a little to realize that so much of American Evangelical Christianity is locked so deeply and has so much invested in Tribal Consciousness. Moving Christianity toward the Post Integral Consciousness is a daunting task…and the illustration of a Christian and a Muslim at that higher stage having more in common than a Christian with so much of the tribal and a Christian at even the post modern stage is where the rubber meets the road here in the good ole USA. Thanks Mike for a great reading…and thanks Tim for a great lecture.

  3. Ooooo thank you BOTH, Mike and Tim! Wonderful. I look forward to hearing it en la maƱana. Late to bed as usual.
